My doctors gave my cleocin to get rid of my bv. I was reading in the pamphlet that it can cause pseudomembranous colitis. I wasnt sure if anyone knew how common this happens among people who have taken this antibiotic for BV since it says about 30% is absorbed systemically. Any ideas?

I went to my gyno for a pap smear almost two weeks ago, and it was discovered that i had BV. I was put on metronidazole (14 pill for 7 days), everything seemed to clear up, and my period came on time, but it was, and still is very dark dark red blood, which is not normal for me. Is this a possible side effect with taking metronidazole, an antibiotic? Has anyone experienced similar effects?
